Marvel Zombies just dropped on Disney Plus, but did Marvel miss a massive opportunity by not releasing it as a theatrical movie? In this video, I break down why Marvel Zombies should’ve been a big-screen MCU event.
I’ll share my thoughts on the series itself — what worked, what didn’t, and why I actually enjoyed the pacing and fun zombie moments. But beyond that, I explain how Marvel could’ve turned this into a theatrical release that filled the empty fall Marvel movie slot, made use of its star-studded voice cast, and taken a page from anime’s playbook by releasing in theaters first and then repackaging it on streaming.
Plus, imagine if Marvel had teased Avengers: Doomsday or another MCU project at the end of a Marvel Zombies theatrical run — fans would’ve gone crazy. Instead, all 4 episodes were dropped at once on Disney Plus, missing the chance to build real hype.
So let’s talk about why Marvel Zombies deserved the big screen treatment, and what this says about Marvel’s future in animation and theatrical releases.
