The Five (ALMOST) Best Comic Book of 2025 | Comics End of the Year List

Every year I rank my Best Comics of the Year, but some incredible 2025 comics didn’t qualify — not because they aren’t great, but because they don’t have enough issues out yet.

In this video, I break down five of the best comic book series of 2025 that almost made my Best Of list, including Image, Marvel, DC, and DSTLRY titles that absolutely deserve your attention.

When it comes to year-end lists, everyone has different rules.
My personal criteria for Best Comics of 2025 requires a series to have enough issues released to judge it as a complete body of work.

That means some truly standout comics had to be excluded — and that’s what this video is about.

📚 Comics discussed in this video:
• Everything Dead & Dying (Image Comics)
• Galactic #1 (DSTLRY)
• You Won’t Feel a Thing #1 (DSTLRY)
• Marvel Zombies: Red Band
• DC K.O. (DC Comics event)

We talk about:
• Story and themes
• Creative teams
• Early critical reception
• Why these books almost made the Best Comics of 2025 list

💬 Join the conversation:

Should a single issue qualify for a “Best Of” list?
Do impact and execution matter more than issue count?

Red Hulk Vol. 1 | Comic Review | Prisoner of War & Doom’s Deadliest Plan Marvel Comics

Red Hulk Vol. 1 | Comic Review | Prisoner of War & Doom’s Deadliest Plan Marvel Comics

Red Hulk Vol. 1: Prisoner of War is a brutal, high-stakes Marvel story that puts Thunderbolt Ross face-to-face with Doctor Doom—and it may be essential reading before Marvel’s upcoming event, Armageddon.

Written by Benjamin Percy with art by Geoff Shaw, this volume traps Red Hulk in a subterranean prison designed by Doom himself. With his powers fading and Doombots closing in, Ross must team up with Machine Man, Deathlok, and General Simon Ryker to survive and escape.

In this review, I break down who Red Hulk is for new readers, how this creative team elevates the material, and why this volume feels like major setup for what’s coming next in Marvel Comics.

Topics covered in this review:
– Who Thunderbolt Ross / Red Hulk is
– Prisoner of War story overview
– Doctor Doom as a villain
– Benjamin Percy’s writing
– Geoff Shaw’s art and action
– Why this book matters for Armageddon
– Tease for Red Hulk Vol. 2
