From the fallout of One More Day to constant status-quo resets, Marvel has kept Peter Parker trapped in a cycle of struggle, instability, and emotional reset.
But does Spider-Man actually need to stay young to stay relatable?
In this video, I break down why Marvel editorial continues to keep Peter Parker in early adulthood, why the marriage to Mary Jane Watson was undone, and how Ultimate Spider-Man (2024) completely challenges the idea that Spider-Man has to stay young and unhappy to work.
Because Ultimate Spider-Man proves something important:
Peter Parker can grow up.
Peter Parker can evolve.
Peter Parker can even be happy.
And he’s still Spider-Man.
